Uppsala University Hospital (UHU) is a teaching hospital for the Uppsala University Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Nursing School. UHU is owned and operated by the Uppsala County Council in cooperation with the university and serves as the primary hospital for Uppsala County. It also fills the function of a tertiary referral hospital for the entire country of Sweden. The Department of Medical Sciences performs clinical research in a large number of clinical specialties. The research is conducted in close association with activities at UHU, and encompasses both basic studies of disease mechanisms as well as development and evaluation of new diagnostic methods and treatment regimens.Website: Uppsala University Hospital
