Robert Gordon University (www.rgu.ac.uk) delivers more than 300 courses to over 15,000 full and part-time students from 120 countries. Over the last decade we have consistently had one of the best records of any UK university for graduate-level employment and we were quoted in The Times Good University Guide 2013 as the best modern university in the UK – for the fifth year running. Professor Stewart and Dr MacLure are based within the School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences which is the largest of four Schools in the Faculty of Health and Social Care featuring an impressive portfolio of seven courses accredited or approved by professional bodies. These include the General Pharmaceutical Council, the Forensic Science Society, the Nutrition Society and the Health Professions Council. The School is both practical and professional as well as multidisciplinary with students benefiting from interactions across a range of subject areas – such as biomedical sciences, analytical and medicinal chemistry, forensic science, nutrition, pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences. These are just a few of the many reasons why graduates from the School are in such high demand from employers. Professor Stewart and Dr MacLure bring a breadth of research experience to the SIMPATHY project. They lead on evaluating work packages 2, 4, 6 and 7 covering desk reviews, case studies, systematic review, benchmarking, dissemination activities and the study website. In the final phase of the SIMPATHY project they will lead on design and conduct of a Delphi style process for validation and recommendation of the SIMPATHY project policy.
